As we are interconnected with Mother Nature, we can more powerfully keep in tune with ourselves by attuning to her seasonal rhythms. In this unique four-day program, we’ll explore numerous ways to sequence
our wellness practice with the seasons, including a dedicated focus upon Yin Yoga and Ayurveda. In addition to our Yin Yoga practice and Ayurvedic studies, this holistic program also includes forest bathing, river meditations, hiking and soaking under the stars to reconnect to your true nature. You’ll emerge from this retreat with self-knowledge and practical wisdom that will deepen your practice both on and off the mat.

Melina Meza has been sharing her knowledge of Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda and whole foods nutrition with yogis around the world for over 20 years. Melina pioneered Seasonal Vinyasa, an innovative multi- disciplined approach to well-being, and is the author of the Art of Sequencing books (melinameza.com).

What does it mean to be deeply intimate with ourselves, others and the whole of life?

Together we’ll explore tuning into our deeper self through the felt-sense of the body and the deep heart, which offer a natural sense of intimacy and authenticity – particularly when freed from conditioned limiting beliefs, reactive feelings and somatic contractions. As we recognize and see through these veils, we grow in self-trust, inner authority and genuine intimacy with life.

Through dialogues, dyadic exercises, guided and silent meditation, body sensing, and slow, subtle-body yoga, we’ll explore opening our heart and whole body to this great intimacy. We’ll learn
to stay present with difficult feelings and question the beliefs we use to defend
our hearts and remain separate. We’ll inquire, share, play and explore our edges, opening to our true nature and to spontaneous intimacy and authenticity. Except for our first and last meal together, we will observe silence outside of our regular meeting times.

John Prendergast, Ph.D., author of The Deep Heart and In Touch, is a retired adjunct professor of psychology at CIIS and a spiritual teacher.

Christiane Prendergast has studied and taught the Kashmiri approach to yoga for many decades.

This three-night weekend retreat for women is held primarily in silence with guided and silent meditations, gentle
yoga sessions, dharma talks and opportunities for group sharing. The relaxed meditation schedule includes silent bathing hours
and generous personal time, inviting each woman to recognize and rest in her innate sacredness. This retreat welcomes beginning as well as experienced meditators and will be limited to 50 women.

As always, this retreat is offered in the ancient tradition of dana (generosity): the teacher offers the teachings as her practice of dana. Participants have an opportunity to practice dana with a contribution of financial support for her ongoing work.

Paige Cogger brings over twenty years of experience to the teachings, with deep roots in the Insight Meditation tradition. She will support you on your path to peace and well-being. Paige acknowledges and honors the many teachers who have offered her wisdom and support. Robert Beatty, a much loved Insight Meditation teacher, is a tremendous source of inspiration, wisdom and support to her.

Amy MinatoJust as we discover those zen-like salamanders hidden under logs, and crawdads under rocks, when we look below the surface of daily life—meaning is revealed. Come be inspired by what you find as we turn over the stones of our lives beneath elder trees and beside the effervescent Breitenbush River. Then practice ways to shape your findings into effective writing. This workshop develops organically with participant interest. Themes we may consider include loss, hope, change, love and spiritual quest. We will weave being outdoors with readings, discussions and writing in a fun, relaxed, supportive atmosphere. All writing levels welcome!

Amy Minato is author of Siesta Lane, a creative nonfiction book about living in a rural community, and two poetry collections, Hermit Thrush and The Wider Lens. Her writing has been recognized with a 2004 Oregon Literary Arts Fellowship and her prose with a Walden Fellowship. She currently teaches a sustainable living course at PSU and offers writing workshops through Literary Arts, Multnomah Art Center and at conference centers.

Celebrate the amazing power of your true, authentic voice. Conquer fear, eliminate “wrong notes” and uncover the undeniable beauty of your soul. Whether you already sing or always wished you could, this workshop will indeed change your life. You’ll break through blocks and free up a rich and empowering sound. The results are stunning and transformational, even if you’ve never been able to carry a tune!

There are basic techniques for breathing, tone, range, hitting the notes, projection and overcoming stage-fright. Then voices ring out, as favorite songs become transformational wellsprings, and inner and outer voice align. Multidisciplinary experts have called the results “profound” and “astounding.” Whether you are an absolute beginner, or your goal is to take a public performance to the next level, you’ll express beautiful messages from your heart. This workshop is a Breitenbush favorite and consistently gets incredible reviews.

This active and reflective Circle of Trust® program is open to men of all ages. The human journey is ultimately a return to who we are. In a large group, small groups and solitary settings, the journey of finding our way back to true north is explored, using the personal stories of men, poetry and stories from wisdom traditions.

We co-create a trustworthy circle in which we can listen to each other with courage and compassion. Within a safe space and as we rest, hike, contemplate and converse, our own inner compass can be followed more clearly: wisdom arises to guide us back to true north.
