Enwrap yourself this weekend in nurturance and deep healing. Breast qigong and massage help prevent breast cancer and awaken the sensual essence of a woman. The Daoists believe the breasts are the portal to nourish the blood throughout our body. We’ll practice a gentle Daoist guided meditation to awaken the senses and send healing Qi to the breasts and uterus. Awaken your pelvis to sensuality and aliveness again. Open to women of all ages who want to honor their body and appreciate their sensual feminine essence. There is no nudity in this workshop.

“If I could say with words what my dances are telling, there would be no need to dance them.”

Enter the temple of your body. Drop into art-time and soul-space. Embrace your authentic movement. Listen to the whispers of your heart.

DanceQuest offers four days of movement, stillness, music, silence, journaling, ritual and soul-crafting. We come together to remember our vision, reclaim our wisdom and rejoice in community. Using movement as fuel and breath as fire, we burn away what no longer serves. Engaging intuition and instinct, we connect to a larger self, breaking open a life that has grown too small. If your body is tired of being ignored… if your heart desires a nurturing circle of women… if your soul needs reflection and rejuvenation… if you want to get away, and back to yourself… the dance awaits you.

Paula Byrne has facilitated conscious movement since 1996: Wild Grace™, DanceQuest™, Soul Motion™, contact improv, authentic movement and trance dance. She teaches internationally and is the founder of SomaSpace in Portland, Oregon.

The streams of life tumble with joy and wonder, and surge through deep canyons of pain and letting go. Flowing together, they define the human experience.

This workshop is an opportunity to be fully present with love and sorrow, and the beauty and unpredictable nature of life.

We’ll use dharma reflection and meditation, interactive exercises and quiet practices to explore the terrain of loving, living, and dying. We’ll cultivate contemplative perspectives to carry us through the gentle rains and pounding storms of our lives.

If you have a terminal illness or love someone who does, if new grief or old sorrow surrounds you, please join us. Or if you are drawn to touch the challenges this theme presents, please come. All are welcome. Dana is welcome but optional.

Betsy Toll offers dharma programs and service projects in Portland, and volunteers as a chaplain with dying individuals and their loved ones. She bows to Ram Dass, Roshi Joan Halifax, and Frank Ostaseski, whose generous wisdom and compassion illuminate the dharma trail.

Holistic nursing is defined as “all nursing practice that has healing the whole person as its goal” (American Holistic Nurses’ Association, 1998, Description of Holistic Nursing). Oregon Holistic Nurses Association (OHNA) understands that holistic nursing is about a way of being, not doing. Holistic nurses may integrate complementary health practices into their practice to promote the well-being and healing of individuals.

We recognize that as health professionals, we must first heal ourselves in order to facilitate the healing potential of others. The OHNA conference offers opportunities to integrate self-care, reflection and spiritual practices, as well as expand our awareness and nursing practice. Most classes earn CE contact hours for registered nurses.

Non-members and non-nursing holistic practitioners are welcome.

This retreat involves shamanic fieldwork into the sacred dimensions of the Upper Worlds where we will deepen our connections with our Oversoul, our Spirit Guide, as well as our spiritual council of elders to learn about our destiny as a soul traveling across eternity. In our explorations, each may find enhanced connection with the benevolent forces poised to help us through these times of change and societal transformation.

Participants should be familiar with shamanic journeywork and in touch with their spirit helpers and teachers. Bring rattles and drums, power objects, a notebook, a bandana or eyeshade, a drawing pad and perhaps pastels and a light blanket. This workshop has extended hours.

Hank Wesselman, anthropologist, has spent much of his life with traditional people in Africa. He is the author of nine books on shamanism. His most recent are The Bowl of Light: Ancestral Wisdom from a Hawaiian Shaman, the award-winning Awakening to the Spirit World (with Sandra Ingerman) and The Re-Enchantment: A Shamanic Path to a Life of Wonder (2016).
