FrankCoppieters copyThe 2nd Degree Reiki Class is for those who want to dedicate themselves more deeply to the healing power of Reiki energy. Through the use of Reiki symbols, which form the central teaching piece in this class, there is an enhancement of the energy flow. In addition, the ability to do “distance treatments” is taught. Frank teaches this class in the tradition of Reiki Shiki Ryoho with Phyllis Lei Furumoto as the current lineage bearer. If possible, bring some pictures to the class from your youth and of some people that have been important to you. Reiki practitioners of any lineage are welcome to this class but there needs to be a minimum time elapse of six months between Reiki I and Reiki II. There is no maximum time.

Frank Coppieters, PhD, LMT #2385, taught at the graduate level for 13 years at the University of Antwerp in Belgium before he became a spiritual teacher, counselor and Reiki Master in 1989. He has a private practice in Raleigh Hills.

This workshop is focused on the interconnectedness of all things and discovering how each of us can be an asset to this beautiful earth and all her inhabitants. Through the practices of yoga, chanting, meditation and journaling, we will tend to the incredible body-mind relationship and cultivate lovingkindness in our thoughts, words and actions. Four well-rounded practices, amazing meals and hot springs under the stars offer a powerful setting for this transformative work. Proceeds will support YARA and Sweethome’s own animal sanctuary.

Sweethome has studied yoga since 1993. She is the founder of the non-profit, Yoga and Animal Rights Alliance which links yoga retreats with animal sanctuaries around the world. She approaches the practice of yoga and life with devotion and awe. Her style is unique and dynamic, poetically blending vinyasa with yoga philosophy, chanting, pranayama and meditation. Her desire is to inspire all to experience life with compassion, patience and reverence.

Join Adam and Suniti for a unique retreat where we will deepen our ability to view and experience the body from the inside. Through the combined study of somatic meditations, movement improvisations, qigong and asana, we engage in a dialogue with sensation. We will focus on embodying the centers of the pelvis, belly, heart and head. As our felt sense of each center develops we encounter archetypal psychological and spiritual experiences. When opening to our interior we release held patterns of tension and make contact to the inherent wholeness that is always present within the body itself.

This retreat is appropriate for anyone with interest.

Suniti Dernovsek is a choreographer and movement educator. She has been a student of dance, yoga and Buddhism for 20 years. She brings her love of movement and her own understanding of practice into her teaching.

Adam Persinger is a practitioner of Rolfing Structural Integration, and a student of Vajrayana buddhism, the Diamond Approach, Yoga and Qigong. All this has informed a unique approach into being curiously in a body.

The sacred feminine—heart-centered, nurturing, circular, accommodating, intuitive—exists within all living beings but has been oppressed in humans for centuries. The shifting of consciousness that is necessary for the healing and sustainability of our planet requires divine feminine energy. This workshop will steep us in the ways of the sacred feminine, and explore our relationships with feminine energy and ways to recognize, develop and sustain it. All genders welcome!

In this experiential workshop, we delve into rich and mindful yoga practices to stabilize and nurture ourselves. Morning yoga is a slow flowing practice using Ayurvedic principles to balance the mind-body. We sequentially move through stability, trust and expansion. Evening yoga is a deeply relaxing practice using: restorative yoga, yin yoga, pranayama and mindfulness of the senses. The afternoons are free to delight in the beauty and benevolence of Breitenbush. For millennia, meditators escaped into the mountains to avoid love. And lovers avoided meditation, thinking it would quench their passion. But in tantra, we find that when two in meditation become one in love, passion becomes endless.

In this workshop, you will discover “The Wave,” a transformational tantric practice to enrich your spiritual-sexual intimacy. Using sensual touch, energy and gentle breathing practices, you will connect with yourself and your partner in ways that create deep communion between the masculine and feminine aspects of yourself and your relationship. You will discover oneness between yourself and others, within and beyond the sexual context, experiencing the deep connection between love and meditation.

No tantra experience necessary. No explicit sexual content.

Mika Smith and Cassidy Geppert, certified SkyDancing Tantra teachers, have over 30 years of experience teaching and practicing the healing arts, including Tantra, yoga, massage, breath work, movement, group process and transformational therapy. Their workshops provide a safe, nurturing and playful environment that encourages intimacy and expansion. Mika and Cassidy were trained by long-time Breitenbush presenters, Steve and Lokita Carter.

This retreat involves shamanic fieldwork into the sacred dimensions of the Upper Worlds where we will deepen our connections with our Oversoul, our Spirit Guide, as well as our spiritual council of elders to learn about our destiny as a soul traveling across eternity. In our explorations, each may find enhanced connection with the benevolent forces poised to help us through these times of change and societal transformation.

Participants should be familiar with shamanic journeywork and in touch with their spirit helpers and teachers. Bring rattles and drums, power objects, a notebook, a bandana or eyeshade, a drawing pad and perhaps pastels and a light blanket. This workshop has extended hours.

Hank Wesselman, anthropologist, has spent much of his life with traditional people in Africa. He is the author of nine books on shamanism. His most recent are The Bowl of Light: Ancestral Wisdom from a Hawaiian Shaman, the award-winning Awakening to the Spirit World (with Sandra Ingerman) and The Re-Enchantment: A Shamanic Path to a Life of Wonder (2016).

This retreat is an invitation to come home to yourself and reconnect to the wisdom and beauty of your own embodiment. We will re-enliven our deep and abiding presence of being through the profound practices of Continuum, deep sensory perceiving and yoga asana and meditation. You are invited to join this circle of renewal and rediscover your own wild and deep Living Presence.

Our sense of who we are develops in connection with others and although we cannot change the past, we can change what we came to believe about our capacity for love and belonging. Such beliefs can shift in a group that meets our needs for attunement and understanding, supports us in owning and expressing our emotions, and which is committed to practicing kindness, acceptance and honesty.

Over the course of this workshop, we’ll seek to learn skills to improve our ability to make contact, develop and track awareness of our emotions and sensations, learn to express and practice communicating needs and wants effectively, and discover habitual relational patterns that prevent us from cultivating the type of contact we want. The workshop will include a mixture of didactic and experiential exercises as well as individual “open seat” sessions with Dorothy, who trained with Dick Price, co-founder of Esalen Institute.

Dorothy has been leading groups since 1985 and in 2013 co-founded Tribal Ground Circle, a gestalt collective in Aptos, California.

Adams and MunnRetreat into deeply experiencing peace and contentment. Mindfulness, purpose, intention/sankalpa and grace often result from the practices of yoga nidra and restorative yoga. Yoga nidra, or “psychic sleep,” will be taught within a series of energetically-aligned postures to maintain an optimal brain wave state for nidra while also opening and healing the body so that this deeply meditative practice can be comfortably sustained for an optimal experience. Especially if meditation has been challenging for you in the past, these silent and guided meditation practices may resonate deeply within you. Our time together will include four practices in restorative yoga/yoga nidra and a sankalpa/intention workshop.
