The purpose of practicing Breema is to bring you to the present and support you to remain present. Breema’s Nine Principles of Harmony are the key to the system’s many benefits. The principles can be used in any situation in life to deepen self- understanding: Body Comfortable, No Judgment, Single Moment Single Activity, No Force, Mutual Support, No Extra, Firmness and Gentleness, No Hurry No Pause, and Full Participation.

In a joyful, nonjudgmental atmosphere we will explore the Nine Principles of Harmony and practice Breema’s rhythmic movement sequences. These movements nourish and energize body, mind and feelings and lead to a new experience of ourselves. All levels of experience welcome; participants should be comfortable sitting and working on
a padded floor. LMTs and DCs earn 10 CEUs.

Taught by Northwest Breema Instructors, certified by the Breema Center in Oakland, California. For more information, visit breema.com.

Join us for a holistic weekend of Zen yoga, Zen meditation, energy work and mindful hiking as a way of moving through the end of winter and into spring on the right foot. As the winter comes to a close, the ice begins to melt: not just outside in nature but inside us too. Spring is traditionally seen as a time of new beginnings and offers us a wonderful chance to realign with who we really are and to develop greater health and success in our relationships, jobs and spiritual practice. There are many specific practices within the Zen Buddhist tradition that help this melting process along. This workshop will deeply nourish and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit.

This is a two-week intensive training. Students must attend both weeks to graduate.

Matt Shinkai Kane studied Zen yoga and Zen meditation practices in Japan for many years. He integrates this experience into his teaching and emphasizes being grounded and awake. Shinkai is a senior teacher at Blue Cliff Zen Center in Eugene, Oregon.
