February Workshops

February 2018

Click the workshops below for more information.

Are you still waiting to fulfill your potential? Is it finally time to overcome your struggle with career, relationship, family, weight, self-esteem or compulsion? What prevents us from manifesting our greatest life is a reservoir of unfelt emotion. Resisting this emotion sabotages all our efforts to change. Connecting to it makes us unstoppable.

Raphael has pioneered a method of emotional connection that is fast, simple, and can be used in any situation, especially when you’re the most “triggered.” Safe and supportive, this workshop meets you where you are and calls forth your very best. You’ll learn to heal the deepest wounds, cultivate authenticity, radiate compassionate joy and serve the world.

Raphael Cushnir contributes to the Oprah Magazine, and presents workshops worldwide. The most recent of his six books are The One Thing Holding You Back and Surfing Your Inner Sea. He came to his current path after years as a schoolteacher, activist and award-winning Hollywood filmmaker. His heart was opened through an experience of profound grief.

The one constant in our lives is change. How well you navigate change has a direct impact on the degree of well-being, purpose and satisfaction you experience on a day-to-day basis. If you’re considering a big change, are in one now, or still feeling the effects of a past change, this supportive workshop will give you the personal understanding and tools to set a well-considered course for the next phase of your life. Discover the areas of your life that need attention, gain insights about your strengths and challenges in dealing with change, and begin to strategize next steps. Self-

assessments, insightful discussions and guided meditations ease your exploration.

The teachers leading this workshop are graduates of Phillip Moffitt’s Changes and Transitions Strategist training program. www.lifebalanceinstitute.com

This workshop is designed to empower and enhance your relationship with your body and mind through the tools of yoga, Health at Every Size© (HAES) and Body Vulnerability™. Students will learn to explore their bodies through Hatha yoga, collaborative exercises, journaling, open dialogue and the exploration of vulnerability.

This practice ranges from easy to intermediate and focuses on breath, alignment, anatomy, freedom of movement and meditation. It is designed to bring yoga to those who feel that the traditional class setting is not providing the support and encouragement to feel successful, and is open to any student wishing to enjoy the benefits of yoga with others of a similar shape or size no matter their experience.

Julie Westlin-Naigus, LPC, certified Kripalu yoga teacher, has taught yoga for nine years. Julie has an M.A in counseling with an emphasis in eating disorders and body image. She facilitates workshops, groups and individual counseling at Be Nourished and The People’s Yoga, combining mindfulness, embodied awareness, joyful movement and Health at Every Size© to help foster body acceptance and trust.

Breitenbush is a natural place; safe, nurturing, peaceful, reflective and free of distractions. Imagine taking care of yourself, being empowered by the trees and soothed by the breeze while taking a big next step in your personal growth.

Come for emotional and physical healing, tools and renewal through powerful heart-centered processes. Stepping off the rescuer, victim and persecutor triangle assists you in opening to healthier emotional understanding and expression, clarity, spirit, vision and inner peace. Neutralizing your past traumas, hurts and fears, while releasing anger, shame, guilt, hopelessness, shock, dissociation and other somatic issues, frees your energy for your goals and passions, and allows you to reenter your world stronger, more grounded and energized with a renewed acceptance and love for yourself.

Our yoga teacher training is unique. Firmly rooted in Buddhist practice and philosophy, it provides an excellent foundation in the East Asian and Indian yogic traditions. This teacher training will give you the tools necessary to teach the style of yoga that’s exactly right for you, and the resources to respond creatively to your students’ needs. When you understand the key elements of physical alignment, energy flow and awareness your own life and the lives of those around you naturally begin to flower.

This is a two-week intensive training. Students must attend both weeks to graduate.

Matt Shinkai Kane studied Zen in Japan for many years alongside a wide range of East Asian and Indian styles of yoga. He integrates this experience into his teaching and emphasizes being grounded and awake. Matt is the lead teacher at the Blue Cliff Zen Center in Eugene, Oregon and teaches yoga, Zen meditation and mindfulness there.
