A Message to Our Guests About COVID-19

Cherished Guests,

We strive to offer a safe, healing and tranquil space in which all people can seek rest and rejuvenation.

In planning for our reopening on August 3rd, we attempted to strike a balance between assuring that our mineral hot springs are available to all beings who respect them and reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. So far, we have not had a single confirmed case of COVID-19 on Breitenbush property.  However, we recognize that the danger is far from passed. We are monitoring the regulatory and public health environments closely, and working directly with Oregon Health Authority to ensure safety and compliance.

Returning visitors to Breitenbush will notice some changes have been made.

  • New soaking options are here. Eleven new clawfoot tubs are now available, allowing for a more private experience than we’ve offered in the past. We plan to have additional tubs online by the end of the year. For the safety of our guests, these tubs enable social distancing and are rinsed after each use. Tubs have a one-party limit and we ask that each party only use one tub at a time. We ask all guests to be mindful of everyone’s desire to soak in these amazing waters, and observe posted time limits.

    • When using our clawfoot tubs, we ask that guests:
      • spray tub down with sanitizer spray (provided), and allow for five minutes of contact time.
      • fill up tub and use the controls to find your preferred temperature.
      • drain tub at the end of your soak.
  • The Meadow Pools and sauna are closed, and day use is unavailable until further notice. The Spiral Tubs remain open.
  • Facial coverings required indoors and outdoors where 6′ distancing cannot be maintained.
  • One-way traffic flows in busy areas and 6’ distancing markers have been added. We ask that all guests follow our new signs and markers, and help other guests to do so.
  • COVID-19 hygiene and sanitation protocols have been adopted. We have followed state and county guidelines closely to ensure that our new cleaning protocols and products maintain a safe environment for staff and guests. We now provide hand sanitizer or hand-washing stations in high-traffic areas and use disinfectants proven to kill COVID-19 in cabins, common spaces and on surfaces.
  • For your convenience and to avoid crowding, we built six additional hot showers near the bathhouse by the A-Row cabins.
  • We now provide a continental breakfast from 7-8:30 am, brunch from 10-11:30 am and dinner from 5:30-7 pm. We encourage outdoor dining, weather permitting. We will no longer be serving buffet-style meals; your meals will be plated by staff. In alignment with new safety recommendations, the guest freezer and refrigerator will no longer be available. Our organic, vegetarian options are served in biodegradable containers. We offer more outdoors dining than ever before and have indoor dining in case of inclement weather.
  • Due to social distancing requirements, we are unable to host workshops at this time. We will continue to offer our ever-popular daily well-being programs although changes in frequency, venues and curriculum should be expected. We hope to begin offering workshops in Spring, 2021.

  • Due to the creation of new soaking options, you may experience some construction noise and detours during your visit.
  • We are an adults-only retreat center until Jan 1st. The exuberance of children, while a joy to experience, can make it difficult to maintain social distancing and would require extra attention from our staff. With new safety requirements come new responsibilities and we want to ensure our staff and guests are acclimated to the new protocols before reintroducing children.

We request that guests closely follow our protocols and guidelines in order to make Breitenbush as safe as possible. In keeping with the Breitenbush ethos, we will rely on the integrity and good intentions of our guests. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.

It is our hope you will come visit us and enjoy Breitenbush Hot Springs once again. Please contact our Office Angels at 503.854.3320 or click here to make a reservation. May we walk through this together and come out stronger in the end.

Many Blessings,
