D'vorah-thai-massageThis playshop is open to lay people and massage therapists who want to learn to care for others using playful and deep techniques. Traditional Thai massage was created in India 2500 years ago by the physician to the Buddha as a form of Loving Kindness (Metta). Learn how to perform a one-hour sequence on your loved ones and/or clients applying the methods of stretching, compression, rhythm and joint mobilization.

Thai massage is performed on cushioned mats on the floor and recipients wear loose comfortable clothing. It is strongly encouraged that participants have some yoga or body awareness and have the ability to move around on their hands and knees. Price includes instructional manual and 15 CEUs.

D’vorah Swarzman has been studying and practicing the art and science of traditional Thai massage since 1993, returning regularly to Thailand for continued training. She integrates her healing work with rhythm, improvisation, mindfulness and vipassana meditation. She honors her teachers as she practices these ancient healing and spiritual traditions.

frankcoppietersReiki is a form of natural healing that takes place through gentle, sacred touch. It restores health and harmony to the physical body, releases emotional blockages and activates a closer connection to spirit. Reiki works with the vibration of love and compassion and is an easy form of self-healing. Its recent origins have been traced back to Japan in the late 1800’s and the inspired work of Dr. Mikao Usui. The opening to this simple and mysterious universal life energy is drawn through a series of initiations and the practice of the form through various hand positions. Frank honors the oral tradition and Phyllis Furumoto as the lineage bearer. This is a First Degree Reiki class.

Frank Coppieters, PhD, Reiki Master, LMT #2385, taught at the graduate level for 13 years at the University of Antwerp in Belgium before he became a spiritual teacher, counselor and Reiki Master. He has a full-time private practice in Portland where he does Reiki, massage, shamanistic work and counseling.

claude_steinCelebrate the amazing power of your true, authentic voice. Conquer fear, eliminate “wrong notes” and uncover the undeniable beauty of your soul. Whether you already sing or always wished you could, this workshop will indeed change your life. You’ll break through blocks and free up a rich and empowering sound. The results are stunning and transformational, even if you’ve never been able to carry a tune!

There are basic techniques for breathing, tone, range, hitting the notes, projection, and overcoming stage-fright. Then voices ring out, as favorite songs become transformational wellsprings, and inner and outer voice align. Multidisciplinary experts have called the results “profound” and “astounding.” Whether you are an absolute beginner, or your goal is to take a public performance to the next level, you’ll find yourself expressing beautiful messages from your heart. This workshop is a Breitenbush favorite and consistently gets incredible reviews.
