Lila of ParentingThis joyful retreat is an opportunity for parents to feel supported in a healthy, playful way. There will be time for families to relax and play together, time for parents to have rejuvenating, meditative alone time, and time for families to eat and enjoy the outdoors together. We will have parents-only yoga classes, multi-age kids’ yoga, art and nature classes, integrated playful yoga and music time. We will group families into “tribes” to support each other in having some free time to meditate, hike and enjoy the springs.

This retreat is organized in a cooperative structure that involves all participants but allows unique opportunities for solitude as well. Partners and spouses are welcome to attend as full participants or to enjoy free time soaking in the sacred natural beauty during workshop times. Lila Retreat was created by mothers with expertise in yoga and art/nature/music cooperative play for children, and mindful parenting/play/emotional intelligence.

FrankCoppietersReiki is a form of natural healing that takes place through gentle, sacred touch. It restores health and harmony to the physical body, releases emotional blockages and activates a closer connection to spirit. Reiki works with the vibration of love and compassion and is an easy form of self-healing. Its recent origins have been traced back to Japan in the late 1800’s and the inspired work of Dr. Mikao Usui. The opening to this simple and mysterious universal life energy happens through a series of initiations and the practice of the form through various hand positions. Frank honors the oral tradition and Phyllis Furumoto as the lineage bearer. This is a First Degree Reiki class.

Frank Coppieters, PhD, Reiki Master, LMT #2385, taught at the graduate level for 13 years at the University of Antwerp in Belgium before he became a spiritual teacher, counselor and Reiki Master. He has a full-time private practice in Portland where he does Reiki, massage, shamanistic work and counseling.

Welcome again to our wisdom journey. We awaken our senses, create energy and balance, and enjoy our creativity. We deepen our physical and emotional wisdom with mindfulness meditation and movement, and unique experiences incorporating art, music, poetry and playfulness. We discover what gets in the way of being who we want to be and how to move forward with self-wisdom, nurturance and replenishment. Bringing women together to share and care, to learn and feel. Playing and laughing abound. Caring and empathy surround. Hearts open to receive and to give. Letting go, moving forward, all with deep inner knowing. What steps do we take, from the starting point of “me,” to join the cosmic dance of “we? We will explore the unifying potential of Reiki in bringing into balance the complexities of gender, race, culture and the environment. Through ceremony, song, dance, deep conversation and Reiki treatments, we will create a sacred space for the oneness we share to manifest

Create new rhythms that foster an intimacy with nature. Examine your life and explore how you might increase the quantity and quality of your time outside. We may stargaze, tree-climb, lie in the grass, go barefoot in the river, make rock cairns and, of course, soak in pools. We will also study local ecology, share inspirational readings and find creative ways to express what we learn and observe while relaxing and healing our spirits in the regenerative Breitenbush environment.
